  • Displacement Layering like Quixel Mixer

    Hello,

I have one ground surface with grass, stones, sand and puddles and I‘m looking to get them together using the blend material and masks. However the Materials don’t seem to have a port for Displacement and the geo with vray package (Displacement amount) doesn’t accept my map either.

My latest attempt was a constant layer over the blend material with displacement effect and node connections, but the masking is very tricky.

In an ideal world I would love to blend my Materials like the quixel mixer. Is this possible without weightmaps?

    Thanks in advance
    christian

Internally in V-Ray, the displacement texture is a property of the geometry, not the material, that's why you can't specify it for the sub-materials of a blend material.

You could use a V-Ray Layered texture for the displacement effect with the sub-material's displacement textures as its layers and the same masks used for the V-Ray Blend Material.
