  • physical camera (package) bug

    Hi Vladimir,

When I open some older 701 files or scenes that have imported OBJ, FBX or CAD mesh into 801, the VFB tends to render just a black screen.
As soon I remove the “physical camera package” from the modo camera the VFB renders the image correctly.
Adding the “physical camera package” back again results in black rendering again.

Here is a lxo-scene with that strange behavior. If you open it and hit render you should get a black image.

It seems something is not completely ok with the scene, the scene item returns a value of 0.0 for the "frames per second" (the UI shows 24.0).
This messes up the physical camera exposure calculations(they depend on the shutter speed which is in seconds, which must be converted to frames at some stage, by using the scene's frames per seconds),
which results in a completely black render.

I've fixed my code to assume that "frames per second" is 24.0 if MODO returns 0.0
You can also easily fix the scene, by just selecting the Scene item, entering the value 24.0 in the "frames per second" field and hitting enter. After this, the physical camera should work correctly.

Yes, by entering the value 24.0 manually now have a Image in the VFB and everything is fine - but it seems that V-Ray RT does´t show the changes that I do
with the physical camera like F-stop, Shutter Speed or ISO. I have to stop V-Ray RT perform the change and restart V-Ray RT again.

Yes I know, I will be fixing this in the coming weeks, together with the color mapping options from the V-Ray Main tab in the Render item (they don't update in RT either).
