Would it be possible to add light linking to environments? I like to adjust my lighting on a per-object basis, and it's much easier to do this when you can apply unique HDRI to various items in the scene. This is something I've been hoping for in Modo for a quite a while, and it would be great to see it implemented in Vray.

Yes, in the V-Ray Light settings. There will be a new roll-out there called "Light type specific parameters".
There will be the following parameters there :
- for dome light : options for texture (use, resolution, adaptive) and "dome spherical" check-box
- for rectangle light : options for texture (use, resolution, adaptive) and "directional" parameter
- for ellipse light : options for texture (use, resolution, adaptive)
- for point light : check-box to turn it into a spherical light, with the radius taken from the shadow radius of the point light (this radius can be modified in the 3D view-port when the Move tool is activated).

If you have access to the nightly builds, you can try this in the 2015-03-29 nightly build. The changes will be in the 3.00.06 open beta build as well.
