  • Help please: Vray sun placement

    Hi there!

I'm looking to light an outdoor scene using the Vray sun and sky functions. With the Modo directional light, we can choose a time of day and location and the Physical Sun and sky is set to the correct longitude/latitude.

How can I set up the same latitudes/longitudes using the Vray Sun and sky? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    J

Just activate the "Physical Sun" option of the directional light. V-Ray will pick up the sun position from the same time of day/location that MODO uses.

NOTE : in the official 3.01.01 build, you need to add the V-Ray Sun/Sky package to the directional light for V-Ray to treat it as an actual Sun, without the package, the intensity from the directional light will be used, which is too low for sun light.
This has been fixed in the nightly builds, with them, you just need to activate the MODO "Physical Sun" option.
