I get this but it doesn't take me to the login when I launch the Manage V-Ray Online Licence Server. The VRLService is running. I have stopped the service and restarted as the admin also.

Do you have some special firewall software. Maybe try disabling it.

In the task manager, make sure that the VRLService is not running (or the file vrlservice.exe), then go to "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\VRLService\OLS" and run the file "startvrolservice.exe"; you should get just a blank command prompt window that stays open. Then go to a web browser and type "localhost:30304" and see what happens.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

I am getting the same result.

I disabled my fire wall and followed your instructions. When I launch "startvrolservice.exe" it opens the command window and also this vrlservice start error. When I click ok it just keeps popping back up.

Ok, this one is because of missing dongle drivers. You could try installing them from WIBU's website here: https://www.wibu.com/downloads-user-software.html (look down the page where it says "WibuKey Runtime for Windows") and see if it helps. But it would be definitely good for a support person to look at it as well.

            Best regards,

Is there any update on this issue? Have you tried installing the wibu drivers?

If none of our suggestions worked, please drop us an email to support@chaosgroup.com. This will open a new ticket in our system and we will continue troubleshooting the issue via remote session (if possible).

You can add a link to this thread when you create your support request.
              Thank you.

The Mac OS license is a nightmare. Why make this so hard for paying customers? Paying customers are the only group this stuff stops from using the SW.

My answer from The Foundry forums:

The common issue on Mac OS X is the user permissions/ownership of the /Users/your_user_name/.ChaosGroup folder.
It is explained here how to fix it : http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...357#post675357
Basically delete or backup the folder somewhere.
We should have fixed this bug for the release, we are sorry about that.

In the future we will probably bundle the V-Ray for MODO installation and the license server installation in one downloadable archive, so you have everything needed and don't have to go looking where to download it.

                    Hi Vladimir,

Anything you can do to make this process easier is super welcome. Ivan spent considerable time trying to get everything setup for me today, so its definitely not easy. In fact, after we had VRay working, I did a reboot of the system, and the license stopped working, so it seems like there is a service that needs activated. This was likely answered, having to sift through forum posts in an effort to find the right one is frustrating to say the least.

                    The error is:
Automatic activation requires connection to Online Licensing, which is currently unavailable. If this is not intended, try fixing connection settings. You can still enable online licensing if you intend to use this computer without Internet connection.

A Popup displays also displays this message:
ONLINE LICENSING - Connection to Online Licensing unavailable.
Connection might be unavailable due to the following reasons:
Proxy settings are configured incorrectly (seems correct)
Firewall blocks license server connections (Disabled firewall)
Internet connection is unavailable (connection verified)

Installing on my Mac Pro was easy by comparison.

Sorry, I am not an expert at this, someone from support will be able to help you more than me.
I only know about this one issue with the .ChaosGroup folder permissions.

I did set folder permissions with sudo chown -R, made folder visible, deleted, etc, and license is still dead.

Maybe download the logs using the button on this page : http://localhost:30304/#/notifications
and then send them to vladimir.nedev [at] chaosgroup.com . I probably won't be able to figure out what's wrong though, so it's best to CC support as well.

As Vladimir already suggested, it would be best if you create a new support ticket about this issue by sending an email to support@chaosgroup.com. Then we will take the case and proceed to remote session if needed. Thank you.
Please don't forget to mention this forum thread in your mail.

                                The ISSUE IS RESOLVED -

                                This fixed the issue:

Uninstall of license server using the uninstaller in the ChaosGroup folder - select option to uninstall the online license server only.

Download and reinstall the license server installer from the downloads area on the site. System now connects to the server, and I am able to enter credentials.

                                Everything is working now.
