  • V-Ray Dirt Values

Hello - is it possible to enable negative values in the v-ray dirt "Falloff" field?
I know someone who is using it in 3DS Max with good results, and has told me that was recently enabled.
Would be a great addition. Thanks.

It is actually the "distribution" parameter that can be negative in V-Ray for 3ds Max, I checked.

Thank you for bringing this up. The negative values for "distribution" are enabled in the 2016.04.19 nightly build.

We were wondering with another user how to "spread out" the occlusion, and I had him use a gradient with input from the result of the V-Ray Dirt texture.
Negative "distribution" values seem to result in "spreading out" of the occlusion as well, without the more complex setup.

        Hi,

You also can put a value above 1 in the color slots for occluded / unoccluded color, in order to enhance the Dirt effect ( which I found quite soft by default ). Maybe it seems obvious but I learned this quite recently and it's really useful.

          Cool! I'll try it.
