  • Distributed Rendering and Nodes

Hi I am just getting into Vray for Modo. Currently I am running my license from a pc workstation but working on a mac. I only have a copy of vray 3.0 workstation. Would I need to buy additional nodes to use DR for modo so I can use my small home farm of 3 machines?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys have.

Yes, V-Ray 3 distributed rendering requires a Universal Render Node license for each machine (including the client machine, where you start DR, in case it participates in the rendering).

You can check the prices here, under Universal Render Nodes:
    http://www.chaosgroup.com/en/2/vray_licensing.html

The workstation license comes with one Universal Render Node license.
You can by them in a bundle as well.

For more information, and possible discounts, you can write an e-mail to sales@chaosgroup.com .

While the V-Ray for MODO Beta is still running (until July 14th), you can request as many beta render node licenses as you require for testing by sending an e-mail to support@chaosgroup.com .
