  • Cloud rendering and Vray for Modo?

Has anyone been in contact with any of the popular cloud rendering services regarding Vray for Modo? I've asked Rebus farm for an implementation, but it did not seem like it's on the roadmap.

If not I see that many support the .vrscene format. What are your favorites for doing cloud rendering with Vray?

Zync supports .vrscene files, but I'm not sure if you can upload them directly - it would be best to ask them.

    Best regards,

Zync has a Python API with examples, and I was able to use their vray launcher to submit and render vrscene files successfully. So yeah, a little script tweaking involved, would be nice to have a plugin eventually with Modo Forms to push directly from Modo, but rendering so far on Zync seems to work fine.

Here's the script, part of the larger zync python repo:

Hah, very nice! Thanks for the pointer - looks like something that we should definitely check out.

Great idea, thanks! I can have a look as well in a few weeks to build some kind of Zync submitter from Modo. From what I remember Zync us a bit more expensive then some of the other farms, but I could be wrong about this.

I've asked Rebus as well for a Python api / command line version but it didn't seem to be planned.
