Neverko has a GTX 980- at least that's what was said earlier.

Or were you responding to me Valdimir? I have a paltry 660- and it's my only card at the moment.

Will have a 1070 or 1080 soon though once CUDA is updated for them.

Even with my 660 though, GPU denoising is MUCH faster than on the CPU (4770K).

Still no luck getting the denoiser to run on my GPU.

See attached screenshot taken during the denoising process. (GPU fan speed at 0 RPM is fine as the ASUS Strix card I'm using doesn't run active cooling until the card is under load).

I've also attached the event log.

Any idea why the denoiser isn't utilizing the GPU?

          Sorry for the delay.

Looking at the code, there is only one case, where nothing GPU related is printed to the Event Log (either info on used GPU or error info), like in your case.
This is when OpenCL cannot be initialized at all. I need to modify the code to log this error, so we are sure this is what happens.

You can try installing the newest nVidia drivers (even re-installing them if they are the latest already).
Also maybe download this tool : http://www.geeks3d.com/20160824/gpu-...31-0-released/
It has an OpenCL tab to check for OpenCL compatibility. Also the "Demos" tab has some OpenCL demos you can run to check if OpenCL is working on your system.

            Thank you, Vladimir.

Everything works as expected now. The GPU-Z utility I use actually shows whether you have OpenCL support or not and guess what, I didn't have OpenCL support... chalk it up to being one of those things you're so certain you have that you forget to actually make sure. Silly me, I was thinking "Of course I have OpenCL because it comes with the driver." Only for some reason my system no longer had OpenCL support. I reinstalled my current graphics driver and everything is back to normal with the denoiser running on the GPU.

The only plausible explanation for the mising OpenCL support is that it somehow got wiped when I recently upgraded Windows 10 to build 1607 (Anniversary Update) because the driver I use was installed prior to that update.

Since all my other "GPU apps" are CUDA based I haven't run into issues before looking closer at the denoising process.

Ah, yes, I remember now. Someone had the same problem (missing opencl.dll in Windows 10 ) with the "Select OpenCL devices" tool (which selects CUDA devices too).
The thread is here : http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...-device-to-use
