  • How to change the compression on saved EXRs?

I was just seeing that the EXRs saved out from Vray are ~2X larger than similar EXRs saved out from MODO with lossless compression schemes.

Where do we change what kind of compression scheme is used? Any suggested settings?

This is saving out stills from the VFB save option.

I believe you have to apply a "VRayOptionRE" render element to gain access to those settings....that is, if it is the same in MODO as it is in 3ds Max (which is what I use).

      Not possible at the moment.
I will probably make V-Ray respect the MODO settings for this (in the MODO Preferences), for both the VFB Save dialog and the saving at the end of a render.

Thanks for letting me know Vladimir. I can stop scouring the net and trying things that work in other Vray flavors for now.

Looking forward to when the compression is respected by MODO's settings or there is some other way to control it with Vray.

Thanks too Neal for taking the time to try and help with the Max port suggestion. While this instance wasn't one of the ones where it was a 1:1 solve (Maya:Max:MODO...), luckily a lot of things are so I appreciate the help.
