  • Using Texture Maps in place of the 'Color Picker'

Hi all, using the MODO shader tree setup, how can one use an image texture map in place of MODO's color picker? For example, when using a VRay Dirt layer I'd like to define the Occluded Area with an image map. If I load an image above the Dirt layer there doesn't seem to be an effect selection which defines the Occluded slot, only a color.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. And please let me know if this needs any further clarification.

    Thanks!

You need to make the connection in the Schematic.
The texture you connect to occluded color can be in the Nodes folder, or you can put it in the material's group, below your material layer, so it doesn't affect anything, see screen-shot.
Putting it in the material's group is better, since MODO has some bugs moving materials between scenes, when parts of them are in the Nodes folder.

Note that the "effect" of the "fractal" texture doesn't matter in this case.
