  • Proper way to set up an HDRI image as background?

I'm following this tutorial to set up an hdri image as environment in Modo:
    http://hdrmaps.com/blog/hdri-lighting-in-modo/

The settings seem to be picked up fine by Vray , however when I render (using Vray RT GPU) and I change the value of W/srm2 to increase the intensity of the map only the light in the scene increases, but the map in the background doesn't change, it stays the same. I tried other color spaces (rgb/rgbf/gamma1.8/2.2) but they don't work well.

What is the proper way to set up an HDRI/exr image for the environment in Vray-Modo?

    regards,

    Alvaro

    Hey Alvaro,

Thank you for the feedback. Well, we have an issue for that query. By the way, the fix will be testing coming week so if everything is fine this will be added to the nightly build soon.

Thank you boyan. That's great news, looking forward to those builds. I just tried it with RT CPU and it behaves fine, it's only a GPU issue.

      regards,

Hi boyan, I want to remark that running similar tests with a blender+Vray standalone scene shows the same behavior in the hdri background. I mention it since I also started running tests in Modo rendering with standalone CPU/GPU, so probably the patch is on the standalone version per se?
