Replicators and V-Ray distance

Is it possible to use replicators with the V-Ray distance texture? I tried adding a replicator to a group and no dice. It seems the only way to do this is to freeze the replicator, which is not ideal in my circumstances as it is animated.

No, it's not possible at the moment, that's why you can't select the Replicator in the V-Ray Distance's Objects list.
