  • Light Volumetrics Not Behaving in VRay 3.5?

    Hi

Im noticing a big difference when you try to use an image with a spotlight, and also light volumetrics between the MODO renderer and VRay 3.5 - please see attached.

    1) Vray seems to place the gobo image off to one side rather than in the centre of the light beam as expected.
    2) Also ticking 'volumetrics' on the spot light in Vray makes no difference - nothing appear in the RT render.

Is this a big, or is this just not implemented yet in Vray for MODO?

    I can see from here;:

    https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...MODOLightItems

Volumetrics are not supported in Vray (assuming this is still the case for 3.5?)

If so, how can I achieve the same effect within VRay? *more the fog and light beams than the gobo bit)

    Thanks

We have an issue for this one.

We won't be implementing this one. You have to use the V-Ray Environment Fog item instead.
You can search the forum for some more info or the docs.
