  • Set Material ID .... where is it ?

    Hi,

can anybody help me, where to set the Material-ID ?
In "open lens effects setting" it is possible to mask the Bloom Effect with an Object - or Material ID.
Where do I find the Material ID ?

    Cheers
    Alex

    Hey Agental,

Thank you for the post. Well, I've made a simple video with steps to recreate the desired result.

      Hi Boya,

thank you for the quick response but I was looking for "Material ID", the field under "Object ID" in your Screenshot.

      Thanks
      Alex

It's not possible at the moment. We don't have the material ID render element in MODO yet.
For per-material masks you can use the "surface ID" render element or per-material alpha render elements, but those can't be used with the lens effects.

There is "Material ID (color)" in The V-Ray Additional Outputs of V-RayMODO 3.6, but still not supporting it?

No, it is now supported. With the addition of that output, we also added a way to specify it in the material group item. See screen-shot.
There is a bug right now, where you need to set the multimatte ID to something other than 0 to have the material ID color work, but we will fix it.
For the lens effect mask, you have to use the multimatte ID, i.e. the integer number.
