  • Modo's Particle Simulation as V-Ray Volume Grid input

    Hey guys!

I was wondering if there's a way to use a particle simulation made inside Modo as an input cache for the V-Ray Volume.

    Thanks!

    Hi Rafael,

You can use it. But you need to add and replicator as well. Bare in mind material beneath the V-Ray Volume should be transparent or with opacity 0.

If you speak about V-ray Volume Grid - well these are the supported formats - OpenVDB, Field3D, PhoenixFD

    Cheers,

      Hi boyan!

      Thanks for your reply.

Actually I'm speaking of V-Ray Volume Grid as you mention.

Do you know if there are plans to make it work with Modo's particle simulation? Maybe this is a feature request? =)

      Cheers!

        Hey Rafael,

Actually, my fault, to render particle simulation with the replicator using the V-Ray Volume mat first you need to freeze the replicator to mesh. We have the request to our TO-DO list so keep you posted about it.

        Cheers,
