  • Mastering CGI New shaderball scene for Vray for Modo + 4 material presets.

    Hey!

This is the newest Shaderball scene by Mastering CGI. Modoling by Grant Warwick in Fusion 360 and I did retopology and UVs in Modo 11
I uploaded it a while ago on Skype group, but this version has better UVs,lighting and shading. Also, I uploaded 3 basic material presets and I made a video on using them in this scene.
I got permission from Grant Warwick to publish this here and you can use everything for your commercial or personal projects. Just don't remove his logo from the base of the model.

    Test render from VFB,

There are 2 Worspaces in schematic view. One of them is named "Scene nodes" containing all scene materials,Bokeh map for the camera ..etc and another one is called "Shaderball" which contains the material setup for the material above. You should build your materials there if you are using schematic so it is easy to save and load your material presets. I talked about this in the video.

I uploaded 3 other material presets and talked about using them in this scene in the video,
    Carbon Fiber,

    Green Carpaint with flakes,

    Basic wood,

    Download link,
    Modo 11.1 files

Hey Muhammed, stunning work as usual. I hope you are well.

I have a question about the bump maps in the blend materials. I don't seem to be able to get them to work. Say I want to add a simple beacon noise as a bump as you have on the video, I do that and
the effect disappears when in schematic. I see you use the colour correction for texture maps and procedurals. Do you need to have them for vray to recognise certain elements? Would you be able to explain why you use them?

I'm trying to create a simple bottle label where part of it is that kind of bumpy metallic and thought I could do that with a blend material.

Thanks for all your knowledge and generosity

                    Alan

No idea how I missed your comment. I just saw it now and did not get an Email notification for it earlier
I used to think that the color correction node is necessary to make the bump work(to set the effect in shader tree to bump) But Vladimir said it is not necessary. Just connect the bercon to the bump slot in schematic
you don't need to use color correction nodes if you don't need to color correct your textures.
I don't understand your problem with bump mapping in schematic. Can you send me the file and I will help you out or even a simple scene.

Hey guys, first post! I'm trying to get into V-ray for Modo. Lots of things to study to get the hang of it.

Thanks for the scene file Muhammed, my best regards.

I cant seem to download this file. When I click download, it sends me to a page with a Download button, but it sends me to a second download page which clicking either option returns me back to the first page. Is there another way to get this file? I am in an endless loop! Story of my life. Thank you.
