I'm starting to do more product rendering in V-Ray for MODO and would like to be able to use more advanced materials..such as VR-Scans, Nvidia's MDL and XRite's scanned AxF. I know other versions of V-Ray at least support VR-Scans and MDL...any idea when/if these (and AxF) are coming to the MODO version. When doing product rendering you often get a physical sample of the material or paint from the client - these properties need to be translated or scanned to create physically realistic materials. Right now we're just kind of 'winging it' with V-Ray's standard material. Things still look nice (I mean, it's V-Ray...plus some re-touch)...but it's not really accurate and I want to be able to tell my clients when they inevitably bring something up that I'm using a physically accurate representation of the material sample. Using something like MDL and AxF will also allow the scene to rendered in another engine if it has to be (which sometimes happens)
