  • Can Vray for Modo 3.5 transfer to other Vray 3.6 applications.

I just got the trail version of maya vray 3.6, and Standalone. I won't be able to test it right now but I was wondering if I would be able to export the vrscene from a 3.5 version to 3.6?

Also how often does Modo get nightlies? Looking forward to the next one. Thanks.

Yes you can export .vrscene from Modo and you can load/render it in V-Ray Standalone as well as in other DCC applications, on the link bellow you can see how to do that between 3dsMax and Maya:

I am not sure if I understood the second questions correctly, but if you would like to export .vrscene from version 3.5 and then render it with version 3.6 - that's possible yes.

V-Ray for Modo gets nightly builds almost every day.

Things might render differently between 3.5 and 3.6.

The main issue is that V-Ray for Maya doesn't currently include some internal plug-ins that V-Ray for MODO uses when creating .vrscene files.
We will try to include these for the 3.60.03 release of V-Ray for Maya.

Also note that in MODO the internal units are always meters, so you might need to switch your Maya units to meters as well for full compatibility.

        Ok thanks for clarifying.

The most recent Vray for Modo nightly is on October 19th for me? Is there another area for that? Doesn't look like the nightlies are updated every day for Modo.

Yes, this is the most recent one.
          There isn't another area.
