  • distribution rendering & whole frames

    Two questions:

Can distribution rendering be setup to do whole frames?

And what might be the reason a host, set to a slave and listed in the 'Host list', might not get scenes distributed to it?

    No, that's not possible.
You could divide your frame range in equal parts based on the number of machines, run a separate "Render with V-Ray Standalone" command for each frame range, disabling "Use Local Host" and limiting the DR hosts to 1.

What's the log on the render slave, does it give out any error ?
    Maybe it's a firewall issue.

I'll double check, but if I recall, it doesn't have an error. It just sits in slave mode with the message "Entering server mode - waiting for render requests on port..." It's on the same Network and all, but I'll have to check to see how the PC might be setup differently.
