I have problems with refraction and some smoothing problems when using Modo 12, in Modo 11 everything looks fine. Is Modo 12 not supported by VRay yet ?

It is supported. Check for any normal vertex maps on your meshes, and delete them.
If the issue is not present in Modo 11, but happens in Modo 12, it's very likely a Modo bug.
A scene and/or screens will be helpful to see what's going on.

Thanks, i have build a completly new scene and it works as expected. But when i open old scenes it doesn't work, i'll try some other scenes on the weekend.

So here is my test, happens when i open files from modo11 in modo12 and render them in VRay (in both, RT and production renderer). The red frame shows how it looks correct, in this case i used an refraction index of 1 to get the result.

Do you have a V-Ray Material on these meshes ?
Have you set some specific smoothing options in that V-Ray Material ?
We have just figured out in the Skype chat that Modo 12.0 and 12.1 do not respect the smoothing options from custom materials like the V-Ray Material.
So I will most likely remove these options and you will have to put a Modo material below the V-Ray Material to specify the smoothing. That seems more reliable.

Yes i have a VRay material on these meshes, but smoothing is 0. But i guess its the best option to add a Modo material for smoothing if it works more reliable.

Yes, that's what Modo 12.0 and 12.1 are ignoring, even though you've set the smoothing to 0, it will use the smoothing from the Modo material below (the default one outside all group masks), which is probably not 0.
It's some sort of regression in Modo 12.

Howdy, flat,
Thank you for the feedback. Workaround for the hidden V-Ray toolbar and how to used in Modo Beta. Download file (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hFW...ngbJiDguU/view) and unzip the config file to your Config folder check the video as well - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uHa_dMo1JxIHXAgdZrrxa5qd3cr1Qc0Z
But I am sure you did that.

We are not going to be fixing this, this is a decision by The Foundry to have kits' UI work in a certain way.
You can still show the V-Ray toolbar and dock it, it's there.
If you want it permanently docked and not floating, you can check this clip here for a step by step : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTwa8QZr9mQ
the above smoothing problem
I hope this change will be in a 3.6 or 3.7 nightly build, I am not sure about an official release.
For now, you can just ignore the V-Ray material's smoothing options, and use the Modo material.
