I spent the last few hours trying to figure out that problem.
This is the FIRST TIME I mess up with these setting so I don't take any
responsibility for any other issues it might cause.
Anyways reinstalling the software might bring things back to normal.
With that being said I managed to make the HORIZONTAL TOOL BAR look as it was before.
Follow these steps
1. Go to System>Form Editor
2. Navigate to the yellow folder: Modo "modes" toolbars
3. Drag and drop "Kit Manager" and "modo Modes Tail" from "Kits" into "ModoModesRight"
3.1 Uncheck "Kits"
4. Navigate to the yellow folder "Menu Bar", "Menu" and drag and drop "MakerBot" between into "ModoModesRight" (Order is important, re-arrange as shown)
At this point you should have restored things as before a part from an extra "MakerBot" button at the far right in the tool bar.
To remove it:
5. Navigate to "ModoModesModel" and click the PLUS to expand, in "Tail Category" remove MakerBot.
Everything should be exactly as 12.0 version of MODO.
Although config file vray4modo.cfg is still in Modo file directory, vray toolbars dont appear in the new Modo 12.1
can anyone reproduce this ?
This was done by The Foundry, because they think Kits take up too much space there.
You can find the icons under the Kits button and pin them as a floating toolbar.
Here is my way of bringing them back permanently, as a docked toolbar : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTwa8QZr9mQ
There are other ways of course.
We already have a couple of other threads about this issue.
