  • Vray Physical Sun God Rays Bug?

Was trying to get god rays to work with Vray Physical Sun. Unfortunately couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. It looks like there is a line perpendicular to the directional light. I turned off Vray Physical Sun and it worked but I would like to use the physical sun with vray atmosphere.

Also, do I have to do any adjustments on the environment material?

This is just a test scene.

Any idea what could be happening?

    Thanks

    Hey, Daniel,

Thank you for the feedback. We had this issue log it to the system. Workaround for this behavior - Increase the V-Ray Sun "Size Multiplier" option to 200. The best possible option is to use both V-Ray Sun and Directional light. Link Rotation channels and also Color channels and set Environment Fog to use Direction light only. Check this out: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CiA...P2pjGdeam/view

Using a specific light for Fog allows flexibility when we dealing with God Rays effect.

      Cheers,
      Thanks, this will help.

I did try to add a bercon noise to the environment fog with the schematic but I'm not really sure which options to link. Vray environment fog doesn't go in the shader tree, so I cannot do the process shown in the documentation for standard volumes. What can I do?

      Thanks.

        Howdy,

I did that, please check the Schematic viewport. The easiest way is to drag and drop both the Environment Fog and texture to Schematic and link Texture Color to maps slot.

        Cheers,

Ah okay strange...Well I guess it was because Vray RT doesn't update the link all the time. I restarted Vray RT CPU and it worked. Thanks.
