  • Environment Lighting Update Issue

    Attached a video.

    To replicate:

    Setup Environment Physical based Daylight.
    Setup Camera, Geo and Light to be Vray Compatible.
    Start RT render.
    Currently sun is at 45* degree angle or so, rotate sun to be extremelly steep angle low to the horizon.
    Restart RT render.
    Now Environment Lighting is appropriate to current sun position.



    This issue is present in 3.6, 3.7 and 4.0 builds.

    Is this RT limitation or a bug?

    Hey, Gheromo,

    Thank you for the feedback. Some of the Direct light options are not supported by GPU. When you've used the "Green Arrow" button you enabled RT GPU mode.

      I get it that there are certain limitations. What I'm trying to understand is that the environment lighting not updating on the character when sun is moved. Which means I have to restart the GPU RT render to see the effect.

      I dont see this mentioned in the docs.

        This is the same issue as this one : https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...pdate-problems

        It should be fixed in the 4.12 nightly build from 2019.04.24 .

        Note that the nightly builds now use the official V-Ray Next for Modo licenses, as the release builds have been made.
        So you won't be able to test it until we make the release and you get a trial or buy it.
        The release should happen soon.
