  • Irradiance Cache Problem with HDRIs

Just did render a simple old 3.7 scene with irradiance cache as primary GI /Lightcach secondary and an HDRI environment in Vray 4.0. The HDRI Light is totally gone in the rendering. There is nothing, not even the bright reflection of the primary.
With Brute force as primary it looks all ok. Not sure if already reported.

PS: It happens not in V-Ray RT just in the finale rendering. So the V-Ray RT result is perfect, just not the final render. All in CPU no GPU and no saved IC. I reseted all the setting still the same bug.

Reinstalled V-Ray Next latest Nightly. Stil not working
      Installed V-Ray 3.7 works fine.

It seems to affect all strong lights in an HDRI or EXR. Like having a clear light coming from HDRIs, with a strong shadow casting. While with Irradiance Cache that's totally gone.

Check a few Environment images. Some show it more clear, some less. In most cases the Irradiance version is clearly darker then the Brute Force or simpel V-Ray RT version. It seems like V-Ray is doing some kind of exposure correction here.

Here the comparison. Fresh scene, default settings. AA = Adaptive. Left BF as primary. Right IC as primary.

          Howdy, Robert,

Can you prove me scene file? Btw, if the RT result is fine for you to change the GI to BF/BF for the final render.

          Cheers,
