GPU set up

So i have finally have my Nvidia P5000 Graphics card updated at work. I switch on CUDA devices in the prefs and render using production render. Its still using 12 cores from CPU and no faster. Also using RT GPU its no faster (and not as good looking).
Is there something else i need to check/turn on to get this graphics card to work and see benefits of GPU rendering . . . ?
Cant seem to find any documentation on this
