Vray Next GPU as default renderer

Hi guys

quick question.

I am trying to use Deadline to submit a Modo/Vray Next job.

But I need to render in GPU and not CPU.

The Deadline submission dialog box let me select "Render with Vray" but I can't select whether I want to use CPU or GPU.

Is there a setting in Modo I am missing (e.g. Modo Vray default renderer) ? Or is that something that the Deadline (Thinkbox) guys need to implement?

It's something the Deadline guys have to implement.

The vray.render command has an argument that specifies the engine - CPU or GPU.

Thanks for you quick response.

I talked to the Deadline guys. They are wondering why we can't set the default Vray renderer in Modo. Like in all the other dcc's (e.g. maya, max, cinema..etc).

Can you maybe give me more info I can pass on to the Deadline guys? Or can I get you in touch with them?

Well, that's how I decided to do it, maybe it was a mistake.

For CPU rendering they execute the following command:
vray.render
For GPU rendering they have to execute:
vray.render renderEngine:gpu

You are sending them the .lxo file right, not .vrscene ?

Yes, submitting the lxo scene and not the vrscene.

Deadline Modo submission has a tick box "render with vray" ...but they are not passing any arguments with it.

I will pass your info to them.
