  • DR Nodes randomly crashing and giving errors

So I am getting everything from buckets being wrong on certain nodes (always the same node) to V-Ray standalone has stopped working, and camera sampler errors.

    Are nightly's not around anymore?

    this is on 3.00.07

    Any advice?

    I have 4 nodes.

    render8
    render7
    render6
    render5

    Started rendering
    R8 started and R5 started
R6 errored out with camera sampler
    R7 Froze Recieving the file

After canceling the render on the host machine and restarting it R7 Crashed with a stopped working message and the other 3 rendered fine. After aborting that render and unticking R7 and restarting the render R6 and R5 both crashed creating bitmap manager which is where R7 Crashed. After restarting a render for the last time R8 also crashed at creating bitmap manager.

So DR is pretty much toast at this point unless I only use one slave but as soon as I abort a render and render again even that slave will crash.

Just downloaded the latest nightly we will see if that fixes the issue since its several versions higher.

So after more crashing and errors I opened a new scene everything rendered fine.

So I went back to my old scene deleted all the materials, outputs, and added vray props to meshes and cameras. Seems to be working now.

So it seems the CAD im rendering is not rendering correctly over DR. Even reconstructing it in a new scene after I added a certain piece of geomtry DR crashes.

          Hello!

I apologize for my late response. There is probably something with the geometry as you implied. I can not guess without more details. Could you share with us a file that presents this problem, one that has the settings you use and some geometry that would be sufficient to reproduce the crash? It would be best to send it to vladimir.nedev [at] chaosgroup [dot] com with a link to this tread (or me - margarita.stoeva@chaosgroup.com) but you'll receive your answer in the middle of next week - there are some official holidays here right now till Wednesday. Yup, not the best time to discover a crash.

          Best regards,
          Margarita

Can you send me the .lxo scene that's behaving like that. I don't have an e-mail from you yet.
If you don't have time to strip it down to the offending geometry, it is ok to send me the whole scene.
