This is fixed for tomorrow's nightly build (the one from 2015-09-26).
The problem was that I was using a "procedural" texture to convert the color of the bitmap to a scalar value for the bump, which like Blago said is not supported in RT GPU for bump maps.
Be careful not to change the default values for the "Low/High value" channels of the image map, when it is used for Bump mapping in RT GPU mode,
as this remapping is done using procedural textures too and the bump will disappear entirely.
