saving layered exr files

When I save layered exr files from vray I am not able to open them in Photoshop, I get an error. When I save from modo render window layered exr files I am able to open the files in Photoshop. I am not sure why...but assume it is not working right? (I have Arion FX plugin to see the layers)

In Nuke it is no problem, I can open the files.

Everyone is using the OpenEXR library to read and write EXR files.
I know we are using version 2.x. Maybe the Arion FX plug-in is using version 1.x and there is some 2.x feature we've used when saving the file, so that's why it doesn't open.

I don't have Photoshop to test it. Can you try the Photoshop plug-in from here (near the end of the page) http://www.openexr.com/downloads.html
I am not sure it works for newer versions of Photoshop though.
