  • License server problem

    I have again problem with V-ray license server. I receive license error and License server page says that interface license is in use by a workstation that is not rendering anything. I attache screenshot of License server showing this machie twice but only one render is going on.

    The support team should have fixed the stuck licenses for you and send you an e-mail. Is it working now ?

    As far as I know, the online licensing team is working on fixing this issue with licenses getting stuck.
    Not sure when the fix will be available.
    Right now the solution is to ask support to fix it for you.
    Edit: in case the connection between V-Ray for MODO and the license server is broken (for example, you forcefully kill the MODO process), the license should be released after a timeout of 90 seconds. In such scenarios the license will get unstuck by itself, no need to contact support.

    Note that when V-Ray for MODO comes out, which will be very soon, you should have the option to choose between a dongle and an online license, when purchasing a new license.
    As far as I know, it will be possible to transfer the license from the dongle to an online account at a later stage, if you wish.
    So, in case you are not sure about using the online licensing system at this stage of its development, it will be possible to buy a dongle license for V-Ray for MODO.

      I received help from support and my license was released. Online licensing is not realy reliable right now but on the other hand, when working, it is much more convenient than a dongle. Will have to decide and it will not be that easy...

        Same here... can't get license to work after installing the latest Mac OS update.

          If yes, what does it say, maybe post a screenshot.
          If not, it might be worth trying to install the online license server again.

          What Mac OS version did you upgrade to ?

            The ISSUE IS NOW RESOLVED -

            This fixed the issue:

            Uninstall of license server using the uninstaller in the ChaosGroup folder - select option to uninstall the online license server only.

            Download and reinstall the license server installer from the downloads area on the site. System now connects to the server, and I am able to enter credentials.

            Everything is working now.
