  • License Error Message

    Hi,

I just updated Modo 10.1 to 10.1 V2 and now my license gives the error code -200 again.
This was a problem I had with initial activation using Modo 10.1, it took someone from support to login using Teamviewer
to get license to work. Is there a way for me to activate the License Server?

That's strange, installing a new version of MODO shouldn't affect our license server.

    You probably cannot open : http://localhost:30304/#/ , right ?

Are you on Mac OS X ? If yes, maybe try this fix : http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...357#post675357

It may be best to contact support@chaosgroup.com , so they can assist you.

Slarty, I am having the same exact issue. I just upgraded to the newest license server 4.1.0_2016 and installed a fresh copy of MODO 10.1v2 on a new Mac Pro and and installed V-Ray for Modo. During installation it asked for the server information which I supplied, yet I am also getting the V-Ray could not initialize UI license, error code is: -200 dialog when I try to render. Its strange because I can access the server from the client machine's browser, it shows the licenses as available, and V-Ray for Maya works just fine on the same machine (also a freshly installed copy) even with the new license server. I can't locate anywhere within Modo to re-write the license server address itself. I have tried re-installing following the same steps, but I get the same error. Any suggestions, anyone?

All V-Ray plug-ins share the same license server settings. When you set it for V-Ray for MODO, you also set it for V-Ray for Maya and vice versa.
-200 means that V-Ray for MODO cannot connect to the license server.

Is the V-Ray for Maya license on a dongle ?

          Problem solved

No idea how this happened (I tend to think this is more of a MacOS thing than a ChaosGroup/Foundry/Autodesk thing), but the read/write permissions were messed up. Thanks for the heads up, Vladmir!
