  • Fur rendering problem

    Hi Everyone,

Running into an interesting issue. On 902 SP3 with "Use Render Cache" enabled, this is what the fur looks like in both RT and the production renderer:

RT is showing the correct geometry and the production renderer seems to be swapping to strips. I'd want them both to look like the RT version. I've been unable to find anything about this in the docs. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Am I missing something obvious?

    Thanks,

It's not obvious, but the difference is because Embree for hair is not enabled by default for production rendering.
Embree and our hair intersection work a bit differently, the Embree one tops off the curve with a sphere.

Our Embree integration had some issues with very short render curves, caused by V-Ray for MODO slicing them into too many segments on export.
That's why Embree if OFF by default for now.
