  • Physical Sun light is over lighting the scene

    hi,

I was trying to light my scene with the physical sun but it's over lighting it and everything look almost white like there's no clamping

It's working fine if I uncheck the Physical Sun and use a normal directional light

I have tried to change some settings like gamma, clamping etc...but there's no change at all

No difference between RT and normal render too

    any help welcome

    thanks

Did you try changing the environment intensity? Random guess from the last time I tried PS so don't kill me if I'm wrong!

      Hey Ratus69,

Thanks for the post. There two ways to fix that. First one is to reduce the V-Ray Sun intensity to 0.06-7. Go to Render Vray tab -> pick the Direct Light -> Properties panel-> Vray Sun/Sky.
The second way is to convert the Modo camera to Vray physical camera. Check the attached file.

@GidPDX : thanks but environment intensity did not work at all

        @Boyan : it's working with both solutions !

I added the sun&sky package but I didn't thing I would have to go so low to diminish the clamp
I like the vray camera, I can manage the light easily with the F-stop parameter like a digital camera

thanks to both of you for your fast help !

arf, an other problem I have related to sun&sky :

I tried to use in sun&sky a CIE overcast sky model but my shadows stay sharp

In fact I can change any of the sky model, there's nothing changing, looks like modo environment is taking control over it

changing camera to vray physical or removing the environment material doesn't work

          thanks

wonderfull boyan, size multiplier was the parameter I was looking for !

sky model looks like more for the color environment

              thanks a lot !
