    Hello,

    In middle of a big rush and since this morning, I'm getting this -200 error message.
    V-Ray for Modo was working perfectly yesterday.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a few times, tried to activate it online and offline,
    and after a few hours lost, I'm still unable to use V-Ray with modo !!!

    Any ideas on how to resolve this issue ?

    (Note: V-Ray licensing system really sucks. Never had problems with TheFoundry, Adobe, Octane, TheaRender,....)

    After a few uninstalls and reinstalls, I'm getting now a -198 error code !
    But looking at http://localhost:30304/#/, it tells me that my license is engaged.

    So, it should be working right ?

      I'm just posting to say A) I'm sorry for you and B) to give this a bump in the hopes somebody sees it. You might even try another forum like the Max or Maya one to see if you can get some help faster.

      I'm not sure CG employees are back from the holiday weekend yet. Yes this sucks- it's what freaks me out about my license and makes me wish I'd listened to my reseller about using a dongle.

      You might try de-installing it all again. Delete the directories it was using for sure etc. and then, with ALL applications closed, reinstall both the license server and Vray. At worst it gives you something to do instead of jumping off a cliff or banging your head against the wall while waiting for support.

        Thank your for your recommendations.
        Fortunately, my problem was fixed yesterday when ChaosGroup hotline reopened after the weekend break.
        We had a few e-mail exchanges and Modo and V-Ray were again working together smoothly.

        But yes, I hope they'll change their license authentification system because it can be a little scary,
        especially when it happens on weekends.

          Good to hear they sorted it out- too bad it took until after the holiday!

          It's not just freelance/independent folks that render on the weekend or off hours, plenty of studios wait to render on the weekend too so hopefully this is all fixed soon.

          Do you remember what the fix was?

            I had this same issue and it drove me nuts!!! It happens if you try to start V-Ray disconnected from the internet or if you use multiple installs. Here is how I was able to solve it once and for all without doing a reinstall:

            1 - Make sure you are connected to the internet...

            2 - Use this URL to restart the unresponsive server (copy and paste the entire URL into your browser) - https://accounts.chaosgroup.com/?ret...30304/activate

            3 - Enter your credentials and sign in

            4 - Open V-Ray and render nice stuff!

            5 - Save the URL as a favorite and use it anytime you run into the error.
