  • Vray RT CPU updates badly

I'm doing some lookdef in RT and I'm noticing RT al lot of the times not updating at all. Not even switching the material on and off will triger an update sometimes. I got some strange results (which shouldn't happen when looking at the node tree) which were only corrected by restarting the RT render. Right now I have a Vray noise texture driving the reflection glossiness and RT doesn't show any changes to the noise until I restart RT.

I'm using only Vray materials and textures in my scene and I've got the nightly build of 2 October.
Modo can display some very strange behaviour when its config file is corrupted. Can the same thing happen with Vray? Does Vray have a config file which I can delete so it will generate a fresh one again?

When I installed the latest build the installer didn't remove the older version, might that be the problem?

Can you send me the scene and steps to reproduce ?

No, I don't think this could be the problem.

Are you sure about this, the un-installation is silent, you can see it in the installation log by clicking "Show Details" during the installation.
You could try un-installing and then installing fresh, but I doubt this is the problem.

Ah, I had the same orange cross in front of the 'uninstalled old installation' so I assumed it didn't uninstall the old version.

I don't have specific steps to reproduce the problem unfortunately enough. But it was not every now and then, it cropped up pretty frequently. I'm working on another project now and haven't encountered it yet. I've send you a Wetransfer with the scene in it, I hope it helps you track down the problem.

      My specs are:
      Intel i7 4860, 32 Gb, Windows 8.1 pro 64 bit, Nvidia GTX 980M 4Gb, Modo 10.1 v2

      Cheers, Simon
