a while ago I was posting about the Fog Color and the Hybrid SSS, but I could´nt find the thread. The problem was that if you set the fog color low on small scale objects (like 10cm) with Hybrid SSS, the object turns black. The issue still seems to be present in Modo, but not in Maya.

I would use the Refractive Fast SSS as an alternative, but the problem there is that you cannot assign alphas channels for objects inside the SSS object. Also there´s no roughness control, which is needed for certain objects.
