When I set an output somewhere in shader tree to give me an alpha for a shader group (item or material) I get a Black/white single channel output in Modo in V-Ray I get a RGB output where RGB shows the same information.
I guess thats some V-Ray limitation thing, but its really a problem. I have about 10 mask in a render project and that causes a massive increase of file size. So instead of having about 1.5 GB for a 170 frames FullHD EXR output I get 8 GB.
Download from Render farm is really getting a massive problem.. please fix that or give as an option here.
