I noticed in 3.5 (maybe it was also in 3.4) that if you put area lights in the openings of a room, they block the environment. I think that's a bug. The workaround is to put environment in Group and activate light linking in area lights and set it to include that environment group.
Here is a scene that Boyan put together. Area lights have intensity of 0.01 so its more obvious. If they are active the space is almost black, no environment gets through. If you deactivate area lights environment is coming through. Shouldn't area lights just add more light to the environment and not block it?
Can someone check in 3.4 please?
