License Error

  • License Error

    Hi I am just starting to work with VRay for Modo and I am getting an error -197 when I try to render. Thelicense server shows that the license is free and when I disable my network I get an error -200 so I know that it is contacting the license server but there is something wrong aside from that. For any CG support, my account is ellery_connell. Thanks for any help from support or anyone else who has seen this.

    Welcome aboard Ellery,

      Thank you for the reply, Boyan. I looked through the thread andthe associated links but could not find anything that has fixed my issue. I have a temp license on a separate account and if I log in there it works fine but if I log out and into the one with the purchased license I still get the -197 error.

      Tutorials are definitely on my to-do list

          This error code ( -197 ) means that you don't have a license for the product.
          Support should help you resolve this issue, maybe some confusion with the account names.

            Whoa, great, i had the same -197 error.
            And I lost the whole afternoon with re-installs, trying nightly builds, repairing system rights and questioning why it was running perfectly this morning right after purchase.
            I'm very excited how long it takes the support to reply.
