Cuda osx nightmare

This is totally ?eating my lunch? !

Is anyone out there using modo + vray under OS X and experiencing kernel panics? It seems to be a problem with Cuda? it's weird, and only happens when rendering via cpu with the cuda driver installed. RT GPU works fine. When I completely uninstall cuda driver, then it renders fine, but I lose RT capability.

Does modo use the new metal api? I?ve read where there was some problems with it and cuda at one point?

Any direction someone might be able to point me in would be much appreciated??

I have spent the better part of a week uninstalling, re-installing, downgrading, upgrading etc trying to get to the bottom of the problem.
