  • Make It Go Away!

Hey, so I have deleted all the lights turned off GI and all the environments, just to tb e sure, but I can still see the material! The scene should be pitch black so why can I still see the geo?
Is there something I am missing? Please respond if you think you know why!
    Thanks - F

    Hey Felix,

Thank you for the feedback. Can you set RGB of the Self-illuminated color to 0,0,0. I guessing this might be a problem. Check the video file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B30...ew?usp=sharing.

Hi Boyan, thanks for your response.
Yes, the self illumination color is set to 0,0,0.
The diffuse is at 1,1,1 but the object should be black in RT as there is no source of illumination in the scene.
That is what doesn't make sense to me at the moment.
      Thanks - Felix

Thank you for the feedback. Well, At this point is hard to me to investigate what is wrong. Can you send to me the scene file?

              Hey Felix,

I guess that you can fix if you enable V-Ray Object Properties -> Matt properties.

              Check it :https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B30...ew?usp=sharing

              Cheers,

Hey Boyan, I think I've figured it out. Even with GI off on the Render item there is and Ambient Intensity which is not linked to the GI. When that is turned off then the scene is black.
Thanks again for all your help

                  Hi Fellix,

Yep, Ambient Intensity was enabled and set to 1W/sr (as the default setting is 0.05) in you scene file. This is the main reason diffuse channel to be visible even without GI or lights. Nice trick.

                  Cheers,
