  • specify JPG compression level

    Hello,

I noticed that images saved directly from VFB as .jpg are very compressed, and I didn't find a way to specify the compression level. Below are comparisons between an image saved from the VFB and saved from Photoshop ( max quality preset ).

Is it possible to display a window when saving to specify the compression level or at least, use a less destructive level?

( or better, in the Preferences, so as not to have to specify it each time )

    Thank you

EDIT : display the attached images in fullsize mode to see differences

For tomorrow's nightly build (dated 2019.10.22) (both 4.12.02 and 4.20.90 versions), saving from the VFB save button will respect the Modo preferences for jpg quality and png compression level.
I tried to do it for EXR, but that turned out harder than expected, so that's not really working.

See attached screen-shot for the location of these preferences in Modo's UI.

Note that previously the JPG quality was set to 85 internally.
