  • Fur is not working after update to 3.50.1 (Modo 902 / Mac OS X )

    Hi guys!

After I update V-Ray to version 3.50.1 the fur is not showing on render. The option "Use Render Cache (MODO 901 or later)" is missing on preference panel.

    Anyone has this issue?

    Thanks!

I've made the option a per-scene option, so you can enable it only on the scenes that need it.
See the attachment for the new location.

In the nightly builds there are further changes, the option is a drop-down where you can enable animation or animation with motion blur.

Hi Vladimir! Thanks for your reply.

What would be the problem of letting this option always on as it was before?

      Thanks!

        Hey Rafael,

Thank you for the post. Yes, with the last build we added the new options and update the Render Cache so you need to enable it manually. The new option is located in Render V-Ray tab-> Render Properties -> V-Ray Main -> Global option -> Render Cache ->

Don't use - This option is enabled by default. Fur geometries will not be rendered.

Static mode - This option allows rendering Fur for certain frame as an animation is not allowed.

Animated - This alternative command allows rendering animation without effects such as motion blur

Animated with motion blur - This command can be used when rendering an animation and motion blur is required. Motion blur will be not shown in VFB RT CPU | GPU at this stage but Standalone RT CPU or GPU can be used as well.

        Cheers,

You can change it to whatever you like and then save the scene as your default MODO scene.
Then any new scene will have it enabled by default.
