Trying to do a clouds based scene and have run into issues using replicators. Have a mesh that I have used as a gizmo on the enviroment fog which works as expected with volumetrics , but when trying to then use replicators of this mesh there is no way to get the enviroment fog to use the replicators as a mesh for the gizmo as it is not available as an option in the gizmo pulldown . So tried parenting the replicators to the original mesh and ticking "include child items" on the enviroment gizmo the replicators do not inherit the enviroment fog properties.
Freezing the replicators to meshes is not an option as the whole scene will become to large and slow due to polycount in my case.
Trying to tackle this in another way (not using enviroment fog) give the mesh a material using the vray volume mtl all is fine on this single mesh but when you replicate this mesh and the replicators all inherit the material from the original ,all of the meshes then disappear when using a vray volume mtl this is not the case when using a standard material which will work as expected with them all the same as the original so it seems a bug when using the vray volume mtl this way,
the issues are the same with replicators or instances.
