  • Alpha issues / Unpremultiply colors

    Hey!

I have some trouble with the alpha in Vray, or maybe the unpremultiply colors setting. Put together some screenshots and examples to explain the issue. Am I missing something or is this a bug?
Also, setting the final output format to save to a .psd file actually saves it to a .png file instead.

    Hey, tioem

Thank you for the feedback. Well, we don't have support for the feature. The workaround to fix it - 1. Add V-Ray Render Mask 2. Select the geometry 3. Render and save it.

If you have a motion blur and Motion Vector RE you need to disable and AA sample in a V-Ray Main tab as well.

Both of these are not supported by the V-Ray core.

You can do the "unpremultiplication" manually in Photoshop, it's explained here : http://ravenworks.livejournal.com/825483.html

Thanks for the reply boyan. I tried out V-Rays render mask as you suggested but the problem still remains. Going to give it some more time later tonight to see if I can tweak it a bit better!

Looks interesting vladimir, I'll check it out!

Seems like your solution was the way to go vladimir! I'll post a screenshot how I did it here for future reference.

          Thanks!
