  • VRayMtl stack cubic projection maps problem.

Artifact appears when you stacked Diffuse / Bump / Normal of Cubic projection on V-RayMtl.
    (Same for stacked VRayTriplaneter.)

There is no problem with MODO Mtl.

    Is there a solution?
    I attached a test scene.

    Tested on MODO 110.v3 + V-RayMODO 35201

Normal map only works with UVs in V-Ray.. I wish they could add a support for cubic mapping.. its so much better in Modo.

Is it a problem only with V-Ray MODO?
There is no problem with the 3ds Max version.

Please support V-Ray Normal Map other than UV in MODO.

        Does ChaosGroup recognize the problem?

V-Ray for 3ds Max uses native 3ds Max textures, so maybe that's why it works, I am not sure.

Yes, we have this logged. But I can't promise when we might be able to fix it.

Well it could be that the Modo render core does the same then Max, convert projections to be UVs on render time, but V-ray can't use that. So the problem would be that they need to write a code that does so. Kind of heavy demand for Modo users only. But maybe if its needed for the other plugins there is chance at least. Fact is, the projection of normals work well in openGL.

Thanks for commentary. I hope ChaosGroup will support it.
