  • VRay Standalone Stuck!

    Hi

Im trying to do a test render of a scene with VRay Standalone using the default render options, of a region in a 10000 x 5000 image, and the program seems to 'freeze' on loading textures - please see attached images. Looking at the trace, it takes 8 mins to load one file, then just hangs after "Using embree ray tracing".

    Please could you advise?
    Many thanks

    Hey, Pali

Thank you for the feedback. May I ask you to check the link: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...y+Large+Images. Rendering "HR" image is always being a challenge no matter what SW you've used. I am guessing RAM issue or Embry problem or simply need more time to build. By the way, you can increase the threshold when you render a high-resolution image to reduce the render time, personal advice.

Did you use the latest nightly?

    Cheers

      Hi Boyan

Thanks very much for this! I can see that I was using 'progressive', so am not surprised that I ran into problems. I usually switch to 'adpative' and from 'brute force' to 'irrandience cache', for the final render, which Im doing now and seems to be absolutely fine.

Im not using the latest nightly build, but will make sure that I am for the next render.

I'll make sure I follow your guidelines in the future!

      Cheers
      Pali
