  • VRayVolume and VRayEnvironmentFog

    Hi

I can't seem to get useful results using VRayEnvironmentFog - apoligies -I posted before in VRay for Modo:General, but now I think it may be a bug perhaps?

If I render something with VRayEnvironmentFog, I get a nice looking render. The problem is I can't seem to get light shafts (or shadows) appearing in the fog. I'm using VRaySun/Sky - I've tried experimenting with fog thickness, but nothing seems to work. Am I missing something?

I've followed the steps in this video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQMnNM6q5YM&t=185s

+ Add VRay Sun.Sky light to a modo directional light
    + Using VRayEnvironmentFog
+ played with Height and Distance settings to get pleasing settings - but no rays no matter what I do!

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hey Rali,

The best way to dealing with this task is to use Gizmo with simple geometry. This allows more control over the volumetric.
