  • Metal reflections flicker

    Hi,

I have some bright reflections that keep popping in and out on the foot switches in this model.
I'm animating the camera (slowly) across about 120 frames.

It's worse on the left side as well, so wondering how to increase light samples further from light source?

Can someone suggest the settings I need to experiment with to fix this issue?
The material has a rounded edge width (1mm) to catch the area lights...

    Thanks,

    Nick

Do you use light cache or irradiance cache?

Hi Robert, I couldn't figure out what was happening to this piece of geometry so I turned it off and re-rendered.
It was still there i.e I had a instance of the object in the same physical space!

      Silly stupid mistake.

ah that was simple. you can also use secondary ray cut off feature to ignore double faces.

Ah, that's sounds promising. Will have a look at that.
          Thanks for the help.
